North Shore man to repair his home after becoming 1st person to win $1M prize on new scratch ticket

IPSWICH, Mass. — A North Shore man says he plans to pay for some home repairs after he recently became the first person to win a $1 million prize on a new scratch ticket.

Theodore J. Tabor Jr., of Ipswich, chose the cash option payment on his “Monopoly 50X instant” prize and received a $650,000 payment, according to the Massachusetts State Lottery.

Tabor purchased his winning ticket at the Dairy Mart on Squire Road in Revere.

The store will receive a $10,000 bonus on the sale of the ticket.
