Motorcyclist dies after crash with car in Dudley

DUDLEY, Mass. — One man died following a crash involving a car and a motorcycle in Dudley Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened on Route 131 at approximately 3:25 p.m., according to a statement from Dudley Police Chief Steven Wojnar.

Wojnar said a white 2010 Mercury sedan, driven by a 17-year-old boy, was pulling out of a driveway when it collided with a motorcycle, ridden by a 61-year-old man. Both people were taken to area hospitals.

The driver of the Mercury suffered minor injuries. The motorcyclist was seriously injured and later died, Wojnar said.

The victim, a Dudley resident, is not being identified by name until his family is notified.

The road was shut down for several hours on Saturday. It reopened around 7 p.m.

The crash is under investigation.
