Arrest made in Somerville shooting that shattered bedroom window of 3 young girls

SOMERVILLE, Mass. — Somerville Police have made multiple arrests after a shooting on May 1st in the parking lot of a convenience store on Mystic Avenue.

Officers executed a search warrant Thursday afternoon at a house in Dorchester, and arrested 20-year-old Teijhere Palmer and a juvenile for their alleged role in the shooting. 24-year-old Devonte Bowden of Dorchester and 45-year-old Laurian Slaughter of Dorchester were also arrested during the search on gun charges.

At 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, Somerville Police responded to a shots fired call near the Saint Polycarp Village Apartments.

Nobody was injured during the shooting, but stray bullets broke the bedroom window of three young girls living in the apartment complex.

“Around 10 o’clock at night we heard pop, pop, pop, like five gunshots,” said Stella Nimako, who is the girls’ mother.

The search warrant at the Dorchester dwelling also lead to the recovery of four firearms, one of which was fully automatic.

The suspects are all facing multiple gun charges in Somerville District Court.

the Somerville Police Criminal Investigation Division, with the assistance of the Boston Police Department’s Tactical Team, Boston Police Department’s Youth Violence Strike Force, and Massachusetts State Police all assisted with the investigation.
