MEMA urges residents to be prepared ahead of storm

PLYMOUTH, Mass. — It’s a mild morning, but with the milder Thursday temperatures comes a quick-moving storm that could cause some trouble, especially for people along the South Shore and the Cape.

When you step outside you’ll notice two things - it’s warm and a little windy.

Not bad for mid-February. But those winds are really going to pick up tonight and that is a major concern for power companies.

The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency is reminding people to be prepared and do some simple things like checking your generator, making sure your phone is charged, and having extra batteries on hand—all in case you lose power.

The good news is that this is a quick-moving storm, so it should be out of here by Friday afternoon. And that means if you lose power, crews will be able to go up and work on the lines after the winds die down.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
