Easton man sought in murder of woman in Roslindale considered armed and dangerous

BOSTON — Boston Police have an arrest warrant on a murder charge for 41-year-old Akil Jackson of Easton for last week’s cold-blooded shooting death of a woman in Roslindale.

Alicia Heywood, 42, of Easton was shot to death outside Sullivan Pharmacy, where she worked, during her lunch break at around 1:18 p.m. Thursday, July 29.

Boston Police are actively seeking the public’s help in locating suspect Jackson, but they consider him armed and dangerous.

Jackson has a violent criminal history.

In 2016, Mansfield Police arrested Jackson for assault with a dangerous weapon and witness intimidation.

He was ultimately sentenced to a year in jail; he served 60 days.

In 2011, Jackson was convicted and sentenced to two years on a federal gun violation for possessing a loaded 9MM pistol at an Amtrak Station in New York.

In Roslindale, residents are hoping Boston Police find their suspect soon.

“I have great faith in these guys, the homicide team, they’ll get him. They will get him. You cannot kill. We are not in this life to kill each other. So I know they’ll get him, it’s just a matter of time,” Nathan Clark said.

Boston Police tell Boston 25 News if you‘ve seen Akil Jackson, or if you know where he Is, immediately call 911, don’t go near him.
