QUINCY, Mass. — A man is currently in the hospital after he was hit by a car in Quincy.
Quincy Police officers were dispatched to the area of 170 Quincy Avenue on Monday evening for reports of a crash at around 7 p.m.
Friends of the victim say he was doing what he does every Monday night - go bowling. He had been crossing the street when he was hit by a car.
The victim, identified only as a 62-year-old man, was rushed to Boston Medical Center with serious head injuries, but is conscious and alert, according to police.
“Bill is a bowler here,” said Ed Kole, a friend of the victim. “He was parked across the street, he tried to cross and a car just hit him. He’s a nice guy. He bowls with us every night. We’ve been doing it for years, it’s a shame."

Police say the driver stayed on scene.
Friends of the victim from the bowling league say they are just hoping for a speedy recovery.
“He’s a nice guy,” said Kevin Bryant. “He’s a good bowler. He’s always upbeat and happy, and fun to be around.”
It is still unclear if any charges will be filed against the driver as police are still trying to figure out how exactly the crash happened and why.
