Man assaulted with machete, robbed outside of Dedham Hooters, police say

DEDHAM, Mass. — Dedham police are investigating a late-night armed robbery at the Hooters on Route 1.

According to police, two suspects approached a man in the parking lot around 11:55 p.m. Monday.

One of the suspects assaulted the man with a machete and demanded money, while another suspect placed an object against the man’s back and took some cash from the man.

Police said the victim was not hurt.

The suspects got away with some money, though police have not said how much they took.

Police said the two suspects took off in a dark-colored Acura sedan.

Another person witnessed the armed robbery, but police are asking anyone who knows anything to call Dedham Police Det. Gonski at 781-326-1212.
