Juvenile charged with drugged driving after pedestrian struck, seriously injured

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — A juvenile has been arrested and charged with drugged driving after police said the driver struck and seriously injured a pedestrian on Monday.

The juvenile, who was not identified and whose age was not released, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, marijuana, resulting in serious bodily injury; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a person over 60, and driving to endanger.

At around 2:24 p.m. Monday, Tewksbury Police responded to Regina S. Drive for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle

A preliminary investigation found that a female pedestrian was standing on the side of the road when the motor vehicle left its lane of travel, went into the opposite lane of travel, and struck the woman.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was sent to the hospital. She was in stable condition on Tuesday evening, police said.
