STOUGHTON, Mass. — A train collided with a car in Stoughton on Friday, prompting a large emergency response. The crash also affected commuter rail service and area roads.
The collision happened in the area of Canton, School, and Porter streets around 12 p.m., according to the Stoughton Police Department.
There were minor injuries reported to those involved in the incident. A photo from the scene showed a sedan with significant front-end damage.
The area was closed to traffic until about 2 p.m. because the train was “across the entire street,” police said.
Keolis and Transit police are handling an investigation.
As of 1:36 p.m. affected commuter rail service on the Stoughton Line had resumed regularly scheduled service.

Traffic is closed at Canton Street and School Street and Porter Street @ Stoughton Center. Any responding media is asked to utilize the train lot via Wyman street.
