Hundreds of people gathered in Boston to watch the eclipse in the nation’s oldest city park

BOSTON — Hundreds of people gathered on the Boston Common to score a prime spot to watch the solar eclipse in the nation’s oldest city park.

With mild spring weather and a mostly clear sky made for a near-perfect viewing condition. In Boston, the partial eclipse began at 2:16 p.m. and reached its peak at 3:29 p.m. with nearly 93% of the sun blocked by the moon’s shadow.
