Fenway Fantasy Day gives cancer patients a chance to take the field

BOSTON — Hundreds of adults and kids got the opportunity to play on the field at Fenway Park on Saturday as part of a long-running drive to raise money for cancer research.

The John Hancock Fenway Fantasy Day gives donors along with cancer patients the opportunity to bat and take the field of Boston’s iconic Fenway Park.

The fundraiser has been running for 30 years and brought in nearly $9 million to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since 1992.

All proceeds from Saturday’s event go to the Jimmy Fund, which supports adult and pediatric patient care and cancer research at Dana-Farber.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
