Father, daughter killed in motorcycle crash in Hanson

HANSON, Mass. — A Halifax father and daughter were killed in a motorcycle crash in Hanson on Friday night, Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz said.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., Hanson Police received a 911 call for a report of a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of 612 Monponsett St. at Hill Road with a victim lying in the roadway.

A 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound on Monponsett Street before it left the roadway and struck a nearby pole, police said.

When emergency responders arrived, they found the father, later identified as 58 year-old James Ripley of Halifax, lying in the roadway. He was taken by ambulance to Brockton Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, Cruz said.

Emergency crews also found a female victim at that crash site, later identified as 19-year-old Jenna Ripley of Halifax. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section responded to the scene. Troopers from the Plymouth County CPAC Unit responded to assist with the investigation.
