Cohasset police seek help tracking down vehicle in hit-and-run crash that left dog dead

COHASSET, Mass. — Police in Cohasset are turning to the public for help tracking down a vehicle sought in connection with a hit-and-run crash on Monday that left a dog dead.

Officers responding to a report of crash in the area of Pond Street and Clay Spring Road just before 8 a.m. found a dog suffering from “major” injuries, according to the Cohasset Police Department.

The dog was later pronounced dead at the scene. The driver involved in the crash fled the area and hasn’t been identified.

Police say they are looking for a 2011-2022 white Jeep Grand Cherokee with chrome trim and right frontend damage.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information on the driver is urged to contact Officer Joshua Kimball at 781-383-1055.
