BOSTON — A U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer accidentally fired his gun inside Terminal E at Boston Logan Airport, officials say.
The incident, according to officials, happened last Friday inside the U.S. Customs and Border Protection facilities at the airport. Boston 25 News understands the alleged incident happened inside the CBP’s armory, located within their facilities at Terminal E.
No passengers were harmed or in the “immediate area” at the time the shot was fired.
An investigation has been launched into the incident and a spokesperson for CBP said they will “any necessary corrective action based on the investigation."
It is unclear how or what circumstances led the officer to fire his gun.
