CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Cambridge Police received an anonymous email that a bomb was placed in a Cambridge middle school, according to an emergency alert from Cambridge Public Schools.
School officials said they were notified early Monday morning. The schools were assessed and remained open.
According to Cambridge public school officials, the five buildings impacted by the threat were: the Amigos School, the Peabody School that houses the Rindge Avenue Upper School, The Tobin School that houses the Vassal Lane Upper School, the King Open School that houses the Cambridge Street Upper School, and the Kennedy-Longfellow School that houses the Putnam Avenue Upper School.
