BOSTON — To bring awareness and assistance that hunger remains a major issue in our communities, the Greater Boston Food Bank held its annual “Chain of Giving” on Thursday.

State and local officials, including Governor Baker, Attorney General Healey, and Mayor Wu, along with business leaders participated in Thursday’s event focusing on the critical issue of food insecurity and helping support hunger relief heading into this holiday season.

GBFB’s annual Hunger Free Holidays campaign kicked off last week and the volunteers and leaders are urging community members to help give back.

“A $30 donation will provide a healthy holiday meal for a family in need this season—and you’ll have 2X the impact thanks to sponsors, Stop & Shop and the Biogen Foundation, who will DOUBLE your gift,” according to the organization.
