BOSTON, Mass. — Boston police are on scene in West Roxbury after a cement truck struck and knocked down several electrical poles that trapped the driver.
The incident occurred around 1:43 PM when officers were dispatched to 241 Lagrange Street to reports of a crash.
Once there, officers found a truck that hit multiple electrical poles, knocking them down and trapping the driver inside the vehicle.
Fortunately, the driver was safely removed from the truck, and the street was closed.
Eversource was called to the area. Boston 25 has reached out to them for comment; they say that, allegedly, the driver of the truck had gotten snagged on a low-hanging electrical wire, taking down at least 2 to 3 poles.
Eversource crews are on scene; they say 1,000 customers are without power and hope to get at least 80% of them back to power within the next hour.
