3 arrested, charged with murder in stabbing death of 34-year-old Boston man

BOSTON — Three people have been arrested and charged with murder in connection to an August fatal stabbing in Roxbury, Boston Police announced Thursday. Two of those suspects were apprehended Thursday morning while the third, who police did not identify, was arrested on August 13.

Ricardo Garcia, 34, was found suffering from a stab wound when police arrived at the scene near Pierson Street and Massachusetts Avenue on the morning of Sunday, August 8. He later died at a nearby hospital. Five days later, the first of three eventual suspects was arrested.

Early Thursday morning, Boston Police arrested Karoon Brown, 49, of Mattapan at his home. At the same time, just before 6:30 a.m., U.S. Marshals and the ATF apprehended Derrell Sanford, 26, of Boston while he was in New Hampshire; Sanford is awaiting extradition back to Massachusetts.
