26-year-old suspect arrested in connection to fatal shooting in Worcester

WORCESTER, Mass. — A 26-year-old was arrested and is now facing charges in connection to a fatal shooting that happened back in May in Worcester.

The Worcester Police Department told Boston 25 Angel Rosario of Worcester was arrested last Friday at 9 p.m. for a warrant related to the fatal shooting on Chandler Street that happened on May 8.

An officer was observing the area of Paku Lounge when he heard shots fired. He quickly called for assistance, and other officers arrived shortly after. They found a 44-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered medical aid until the man was transported to the hospital by ambulance. But he was later pronounced deceased.

On the same night, the Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit arrived to continue the investigation.

The Worcester Police told Boston 25 the investigation is still ongoing. They did not release the date for Rosario’s arraignment.
