20-year-old man killed in shooting outside Revere ice cream shop identified; suspect still at large

REVERE, Mass. — State police are investigating after a 20-year-old man was shot and killed outside Twist & Shake ice cream shop in Revere Sunday night.

Police were called to the ice cream shop at 82 Revere Beach Blvd. around 10:10 p.m. Sunday, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.

The man, later identified as Yaseen Butt of Revere, was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he later died.

A preliminary investigation suggests the shooting followed an altercation, according to a state police statement issued early Monday morning.

Police said the shooter took off on foot.

No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by State Police-Revere, the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Revere Police also assisted at the scene.
