2 men arrested, weapons & drugs seized after hours-long standoff in Brockton

BROCKTON, Mass. — Two men are facing multiple charges after being arrested early Friday morning following a standoff with Brockton Police.

The Brockton Police Department told Boston 25 News officers were alerted to shots fired at 1:30 a.m. in the area of Davids Street. When officers arrived at the scene, a male suspect, Kenny Rodrigues, 27, of Brockton, barricaded himself inside 33 Davids St.

“We immediately sent for our Special Reaction Team,” said Brockton Police Dept. spokesman Darren Duarte. “The crisis negotiator for the Brockton Police SRT communicated with the suspect, who then exited the residence. Police took him into custody without incident.”

Police had Davids St. blocked off for hours and had a crisis negotiator at the scene, communicating with the suspect. The man eventually exited the residence, and police took him into custody without incident.

Brockton Police were able to execute a search warrant on the first-floor apartment. Officers were able to seize a Glock firearm, one long rifle, two high-capacity ammunition magazines, assorted ammunition, drugs, and another gun outside near the house.

Authorities confirmed another male suspect, 32-year-old Luis Rodrigues, was arrested and is facing drug and weapon charges.

Authorities confined no one was injured during the shooting, but three vehicles did sustain damage from the gunfire.
