2 Boston hospitals again named among the very best healthcare institutions in United States

BOSTON — For the fifth year in a row, two hospitals in Boston have been named among the very best healthcare institutions in the United States.

U.S. News & World Report recently published its “Best Hospitals Honor Roll 2023-2023,″ which ranks the institutions in 15 specialties and their work in 21 more widely performed procedures and conditions.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital were both ranked among the top 22 hospitals in the country.

Brigham and Women’s Hospital was nationally ranked in 12 adult specialties and rated high performing in one adult specialty and 18 procedures and conditions, according to U.S. News.

“Best in the country in obstetrics and gynecology, Brigham and Women’s Hospital excels at caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients in these specialties,” U.S. News wrote in its report. “It is rated High Performing in nearly all procedures and conditions.”

Massachusetts General Hospital is nationally ranked in 13 adult and four pediatric specialties and rated high performing in 21 adult procedures and conditions, according to U.S. News.

“Nationally ranked in the top five in diabetes and endocrinology, ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology and psychiatry, Massachusetts General Hospital excels at caring for the sickest, most medically complex patients in these specialties,” U.S. News wrote in its report.

In U.S. News & World Report’s regional ranking, Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital tied for the top spot, followed by Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, UMass Memorial Medical Center, and Tufts Medical Center to round out the top five.
