Local teen gets to dance on stage at Justin Bieber concert

EVERETT, Mass. — It’s a night many people have been looking forward to for quite some time. One girl may have been looking forward to Justin Bieber’s concert Tuesday night more than the rest though.

Jazmin Johnson, 13, said she’s been dancing since she was 2 years old, but she was a bit confused when her mother asked her to learn the dance to one of Bieber’s songs.

“She was like ‘learn this dance!’ She gave me the phone and was like ‘learn it, I’m going out, learn this.’ I’m like OK. I had no idea what it was about. So I learned the dance,” Jazmin said,

Her mother recorded the dance, then posted it on social media. Soon after her mother told her why.

“It was for Justin Bieber's Purpose tour. He's picking four kids out of each city,” Jazmin said.

Her wish came true and she will be dancing with her idol.

“She showed me the email and I was flipping out in the middle of the restaurant,” Jazmin said.

Jazmin will be performing with the pop star Tuesday night at TD Garden. She not only credits her mother, but her dance instructor.

“Try to keep them confident and let them have fun along the way. It's great to see a blessing like this come to a child from this studio,” dance instructor Reia Conner said.

Jazmin said she's ready!

“I already performed at the TD Garden with the Celtics and all that stuff. But I haven't performed in front of thousands and thousands of people. So it will be something new, and I’m pretty excited about it,” she said.
