ASHBURNHAM, Mass. — School has been canceled for Wednesday, November 24 in the Ashburnham-Westminster Regional School District.
Superintendent Todd Stewart made the announcement Tuesday afternoon, citing an “extremely high number of bus drivers being out” as the reason behind the decision. He did not specify the reason for the lack of drivers. Stewart says if the district attempted school, bus routes could run as much as 90 minutes late both in the morning and at the end of the day.
The district was already scheduled to have an early dismissal day.
Stewart says the district is working with the bus contractor to ensure a normal schedule next week. He says families will be informed on Sunday if any bus routes will be impacted for Monday morning.
