Julian Edelman kicks off book release in partnership with Christmas in the City

BOSTON — The New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is back with another children's book, just in time for the holiday season!

In collaboration with the Christmas in the City organization, Edelman will be doing the first public reading of his brand new children's book "Flying High 2" at the Christmas in the City Celebrity Holiday Tree and Wreath Laying Auction.

The event will take place at the Seaport Hotel and World Trade Center on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6 - 9 p.m.

Admission tickets are currently $40 dollars and can be purchased by clicking on this link.

Edelman will also auction off a one-of-a-kind Julian Edelman-themed Christmas tree and signed copies of his book to raise funds for Christmas in the City, which serves over 18,000 children in need during the holiday season.

Flying High 2 is the exciting sequel to his first book, Flying High which tells the story of a passionate little squirrel and his teammates as they embark on a journey of a lifetime competing in the Superbowl. The story also focuses on the importance of the characters' mantra "You Gotta Believe".

The book will be available for online purchase at JE11.com beginning on Friday, Dec. 8 for $19.99 dollars.

“I'm a longtime supporter of Christmas in the City and the work they do to help children in need,” said Edelman. “I recently became a father and am grateful to be part of bringing joy to boys and girls during a time when their family may not be able to do it all on their own. We can all use a little help at times and Christmas in the City offers that to families struggling with homelessness and other issues; it brings magical memories to kids and I will do all I can to help make that happen. My new book, Flying High 2, focuses on the importance of believing in yourself and knowing that no dream is too big if you work hard enough. I’m excited to share that message with my young fans and help raise some funds for this great cause.”

Christmas in the City is a non-profit organization that helps families who have been affected by homelessness or are experiencing the stress of poverty and, in consequence, aren't able to celebrate Christmas.

The event will feature additional silent and live auctions, raffles, food and a cash bar provided by the hotel. Guests are encouraged to bring one new, unwrapped toy to donate as the event will serve as a Christmas toy drive.

The event will serve as a toy drive kick-off for the organization's 29th Annual Holiday Party in December which is expected to serve thousands of children this year.

5,000 children living in shelters or transitional housing will be attending the celebration with their parent or guardian. The following day, Christmas in the City will give out toys and clothing, serving 13,000 more children whose families have fallen on hard times.

You can also drop off toys at the Seaport Hotel directly at the valet parking station or in the hotel lobby ahead of the Christmas party.
