BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- John Fish, who heads the Boston 2024 group that has pushed for the city's Olympic bid, has recused his construction company from building any Olympics related projects.
FOX 25's Sharman Sacchetti confirmed that Fish's company, Suffolk Construction, will recuse itself, despite its status as one of the top construction companies in the state.
Fish told the Boston Globe he did not want there to be an appearance of conflict.
"I think it's extremely important now that I say publicly that I will recuse Suffolk Construction from getting involved in any Olympic construction," Fish said, in a Globe interview. "I don't want the appearance of a conflict."
While Boston will represent the US Olympic bid for the 2024 Summer games, the International Olympic committee will not make a selection until 2017.
