HYANNIS, Mass. — An investigation is underway in Hyannis after police said a man was found shot on Main Street Monday evening.
Police said they responded to the area of Main Street and Bassett Lane in Hyannis to investigate reports of a man with a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived, they said they found the unidentified 26-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso.
He was taken to Cape Cod Hospital where he’s listed in stable condition.
Further information gathered during the investigation showed the man was wounded after an unknown individual fired several rounds at the victim’s vehicle in Hyannis. The victim then attempted to drive himself to the hospital, but when he reached Main Street he was unable to drive any further.
The investigation continues and police said they don’t believe this to be a random act.
