REVERE, Mass. — The man accused of violently killing his wife in Revere over the weekend will appear in court Wednesday.
Andrew MacCormack, 29, was taken into custody Tuesday, three days after police found the body of Vanessa MacCormack, 30, inside their home.

When her body was discovered, police only said she suffered from “obvious signs of trauma.” But now that her husband has been arrested, more details about the crime were released.
Investigators said Vanessa MacCormack suffered from blunt force trauma to her head, sharp force injuries to her neck and asphyxiation, and that Andrew MacCormack tried to clean up the crime scene and dispose of items connected to the killing before calling 911 Saturday afternoon.
"The evidence suggests that her murder was a crime of domestic violence, committed in the very place where she should have been safest, her own home," Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley said. "It was critical during the past several days to withhold certain information as we gathered the facts and evidence, and we're extremely grateful for the cooperation of witnesses and partner agencies who helped us build this case."
Police also said that surveillance cameras from several different locations helped connect Andrew MacCormack to the crime.
“Why not walk away? Why do such a horrible thing,” neighbor Patricia Oliveira said. “The only place she thought she was safe, and she wasn’t safe.”
Vanessa MacCormack was a beloved second-grade teacher in Lynn. Friends who knew her since grade school said they saw no previous signs of domestic violence and are now wondering if they missed something.
They said the couple’s one-year-old daughter was not in the home at the time of the killing.
Andrew MacCormack will be arraigned in Chelsea District Court on Wednesday.
