Cape photographer hoping to recreate moments for students

MARSHFIELD, Mass. — Students had no idea when they walked out of their classrooms in March that it was for the last time this school year without any graduations or final hugs goodbye.

“Among my moms group, we all knew it was coming but it was such a punch in the gut and it was still shocking even though we in our heart of hearts knew and it just felt so unfinished," said Kaitlyn Litchfield of Marshfield.

Litchfield, a professional photographer, is hoping to help families recreate some of those lost moments.

“I was thinking about the ending of things and how to create some closure for these kids and I thought well why not have a cap and gown or a graduation picture or an end of year something just to help feel like, ‘Ok there’s a little closure instead of just like ok bye,’" said Litchfield.

She plans to go to clients’ homes, staying at least 6 feet away for celebratory photos.

It’s similar to the “Front Porch Project” where part will go to charity, in this case the Marshfield Food Pantry and part will go toward keeping her business afloat.

“I’ve been telling people that you’re helping the Marshfield Food Pantry but you also saved a small business, any photographer you hire, you saved them whether it was finically or emotionally you know kept them out there clicking," said Litchfield.

When she did the “Front Porch Project” she raised $1,500 for the Marshfield Food Pantry and hopes to raise even more with this project.
