GROVELAND (MyFoxBoston.com) Groveland residents joined together on Thursday night to remember a woman who died unexpectedly last weekend on a cruise ship.
Friends and family of Jackie Kastrinelis remember the 24-year-old who loved her hometown and even used to sing at the top of her lungs on the school bus. Jackie's younger cousin says she inspired her to pursue her own dream of performing musical theater.
Loved ones gathered at Pentucket High School on Thursday, where Jackie graduated in 2006.
Jackie was a performer on the Regent Seven Seas Voyager. She was found dead on the boat in Australia over the weekend. Investigators are looking into a head injury as a potential cause of death.
Officials say Jackie sustained a head injury while performing. She received medication for the injury and went to sleep. Jackie's body was found the next morning.
The 24-year-old's body is currently being held in Australia for autopsy and toxicology tests. Her body will be returned to Groveland for funeral services once the tests are completed.
