Graffiti scrawled across Beacon Hill overnight Saturday

BOSTON — Several buildings, including the State House, were targeted again by vandals on Beacon Hill. Boston Police were notified around 9:30 Saturday night. Graffiti was found in several locations.

State Police believe that the person who wrote these messages targeted the same area in January.

On picturesque Beacon Hill, residents woke up to find blue graffiti on several brownstones.

Rich versus poor among other messages spray painted on three buildings – two on Chestnut Street and one on Beacon Street.

"I was walking the dogs and came out, and it's really hard to miss, and I was shocked," said Carl Marci of Beacon Hill. "I have to be honest, I was really shocked."

State Police are also involved now because, at the top of Beacon Hill, the State House was also targeted.

"I just thought it was strange," said Kristen Pluntze of Beacon Hill. "I mean, I've never seen graffiti here before ever."

"I've lived here 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like it," Marci said.

However, State Police have seen something very similar. Just this past January the same thing happened. The state house was tagged, along with other buildings and a car.

Investigators believe the same person is responsible.

The repeat crime is unnerving, but some who live on Beacon Hill said they feel better knowing they aren’t individually being targeted.

"Maybe that makes me feel a little better," Marci added. "But it also makes me feel worse that this is a big statement that someone is trying to make."

The suspect captured by surveillance cameras and that’s how police are making the connection. But as of now, no arrests have been made.
