BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The future of ride-sharing companies like "Uber" and "Lyft" is up for debate in Boston on Monday.
The Boston Herald says city councilors have scheduled a public hearing to discuss potential regulations on the companies.
Licensed taxi drivers in the city say companies which allow riders to schedule pick-ups in private cars using smartphone apps have an unfair advantage because they don't have to follow the same rules. Before Monday's hearing, taxi drivers plan to protest outside Uber's Boston headquarters.
