Funeral arrangements for Jeremiah Oliver announced

FITCHBURG, Mass. (MyFoxBostom.com) -- Funeral arrangements for 5-year-old Jeremiah Oliver were announced Monday.

Calling hours will be held at the Rollstone Congregational Church on Main Street in Fitchburg between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. A funeral service will be held immediately after the wake. Interment at the Hope Cemetery in Worcester will follow the funeral.

The Fitchburg boy's body was released to a funeral home after an independent autopsy was conducted.

The funeral arrangements were announced on the same day Jeremiah's mother was scheduled to appear in court.
Elsa Oliver's scheduled appearance was postponed to May 28. She has been in police custody for months on charges of child endangerment, kidnapping, and assault.

Oliver's boyfriend, Alberto Sierra, has pleaded not guilty to charges in the case. He was held on $250,000 bail. Three others have been charged for misleading police.

Sources tell FOX 25 that Sierra disclosed the location of the boy's body in a jailhouse conversation. Jeremiah's body was found along Rt. 190 in Sterling two weeks ago.

No new charges have been announced in Jeremiah's death. Outside court Monday, Jeremiah's father expressed his frustration with the postponement and said the family wants upgraded charges.

The 5-year-old disappeared in September, but the state only learned about it in December. Three DCF workers were fired as a result.
