NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. — Firefighters responded to a fire on Linwood Avenue in Northbridge, Friday.
Sky25 was over the scene where you could see firefighters dealing with heavy smoke conditions.
One firefighter was injured while fighting the fire. That firefighter suffered a shoulder injury when the ceiling collapsed, according to Northbridge Fire Chief David White. The injured firefighter is expected to be OK.
The age of the home caused an issue for fire crews, who tell Boston 25 News there was no stopping the fire once it started. As a result, the building is a total loss.
No occupants of the house were injured in the fire. The homeowners were away when the fire started, and their son was able to get out of the house safely.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
