PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Federal Investigators were in Providence Wednesday, digging for human remains believed to belong to a mob hit victim.
The FBI was at a dig site reportedly looking for the body of Steven Disarro of Westwood, Massachusetts, who disappeared 23 years ago. The site was on the grounds of an old mill building on Branch Avenue, about 100 yards from I-95 south.

Disarro was the owner of the Old Channel night club in South Boston when he disappeared in 1993. No one has ever been charged with his death. Nobody knows for sure why he was killed, but it suspected that it has to do with Dissaro's purchase of the night club. He reportedly borrowed money from the mob to re-open it as a strip club.
In 2003, Whitey Bulger associate Stephen 'The Rifleman' Femmi admitted that he witnessed the murder ad to home of former New England mob boss 'Cadillac' Frank Salemme according to the Boston Globe.
The FBI said investigators will be on the scene of the dig Thursday.
