FBI Boston investigating storage unit at Extra Space Storage in Quincy

QUINCY, Mass. — Boston's FBI Hazardous Evidence Response Team went into a storage unit inside Extra Space Storage on Liberty Street in Quincy early Monday morning. The Boston FBI is only saying they went into a storage unit as part of an ongoing investigation.

People in the Quincy neighborhood did not know what to think.

“It is honestly crazy to see,” said lifelong resident Michelle Connolly. “Nervous, hopefully it is not as bad as it is looking. Very intimidating to look at.”

The FBI told Boston 25 News that they are executing a warrant as part of an ongoing investigation. The FBI spokesperson also said they are using the Boston Fire Department HAZMAT Team because their agency routinely works with them when there is a hazardous material potential.

Investigators would not elaborate on what they were looking for or found.

“I feel if it was that dangerous they would have cleared the area,” Paul Gambardello of Quincy said. “So I’m not worried. As long as we can work I really don’t care”.

David Aristide showed up trying to access to his storage unit but an FBI agent told him that, "it's been an ongoing investigation for this location and I wouldn't be able to get in until late tonight or sometime tomorrow," he said.

Extra Space Storage gave the following written statement to Boston 25 News:

“Out of an abundance of caution, we’ve been asked to not allow customers access to the site. Customers can visit extraspace.com where we will be posting real-time updates on the site access status.”
