BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com / AP) -- A jury has found Edwin Alemany guilty of kidnapping and killing Amy Lord.
The verdict came Monday afternoon after the jury deliberated for seven hours over two days.
Alemany, 30, was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of 24-year-old Amy Lord in July 2013. Lord — a Wilbraham native living in South Boston — was beaten and forced to drive her SUV to several ATMs to withdraw money. A jury found Alemany guilty on counts related to these crimes as well, including kidnapping and armed carjacking.
She was then forced to drive to a reservation where she was killed.
In addition to first degree murder, Alemany was also charged with assault and battery on two women, Alexandra Cruz and Kayleigh Ballantyne, before and after Lord's slaying.
Alemany's attorney Jeffrey Denner told the jury his client should be found not guilty by reason of insanity.

Denner says the system that failed to get his client the help he needed, and that Alemany does not think rationally.
Alemany's family also said they believed the system failed him and that he needs help.
"There has to be something wrong with someone mentally," juror Marilyn Stout said after the verdict was read. "But based on the facts and the evidence that was presented to us, that's what we made our decision on."
A judge will formally sentence Alemany on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. Amy Lord's family members and other victims will be able to give victim impact statements at the sentencing.
Outside of court Monday afternoon, Amy's parents Dennis and Cindy were too upset to speak with reporters.
"These cases are never about giving them back what they want the most which is their daughter, Amy Lord," said Assistant District Attorney John Pappas. "What these cases are about in the end as far as goes is giving the result we can give them."
In Massachusetts, a first degree murder conviction carries the automatic penalty of life in prison without the possibility of parole, but also an automatic appeal.
