NASHUA, N.H. — Several car windows and mirrors were smashed by pumpkins in Nashua this week, but victims of the incidents aren't laughing at the pre-Halloween prank.
One of the vehicles that fell victim to the pumpkin attack had the driver's side window smashed, with glass still on the street from the impact.
Through the passenger-side window, a pumpkin can be seen still sitting inside.
"There's still some, like, pumpkin pieces you can see in here," Bridget Monteiro, one victim of the attacks, said. "But, this whole thing is smashed. The cover came off the back."
Monteiro said the prank required an inconvenient and expensive fix, one she wasn't pleased that she had to deal with after her car mirror was smashed Tuesday night while visiting a friend.
"I came out to my car all smashed up," Monteiro said. "It’s super dark outside, it was starting to rain and I noticed there was a pumpkin all across the road, just smashed into pieces."
Monteiro reported the damage to Nashua Police, who say they're investigating after at least nine vehicles were damaged by thrown pumpkins on several side streets off Manchester Street.
"I went to open the door, and I actually thought that I left the windows open because it looked like the seat was full of water," Othniel Archer said. "I realized it was a little bit dark out, then I realized it wasn’t water; it was all the glass from my window shattered all over the car seat. Then I realized, I looked in a little further, and I saw a giant pumpkin."

Archer is unable to drive his truck, and is now using his wife's car to get to work in Massachusetts.
"People got too much time on their hands," Archer said. "I don’t understand why people would do that. They wouldn’t want to do that to their parents’ house or anything, but they did that to my truck."
Nashua Police say they're looking for surveillance video while gathering estimates.
"There’s potentially more victims out there whose vehicles were damaged," Nashua Police Sergeant Clark Gaphardt said. "If they are out there, we ask them to call us and let us know so we can come out and take a report."
If you were a witness or know anything about the vandalism, police are asking for you to call them with information.
