BOSTON — A rare opportunity for people on Boston to see the corpse flower in bloom and on display.
The plant is located inside the tropical forest section of the zoo, and is expected to bloom Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
Franklin Park Zoo officials said they expect the bloom to be nearly 4 feet in diameter, only about half of the largest bloom, which was 9 feet across.
The plants often go years between blooms, and when they do bloom it only lasts between 24-48 hours. The last time one of the Franklin Park Zoo's corpse flowers bloomed while in display was in 2012.
