Charges dropped against woman accused of hitting & killing tow truck driver

A woman accused of driving drunk and hitting and killing a tow truck driver in Andover is no longer facing charges.

Shiina Dionne was driving on Interstate 495 in March when she hit and killed Daniel Coady.

Coady was in the breakdown lane responding to a crash.

The 28-year-old was initially charged with operating under the influence, but Wednesday, a Lawrence District Court prosecutor said she tested negative for drugs and alcohol.

Officials believe black ice may have contributed to the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by Mass. State Police.
