DENNIS PORT, Mass. — A federal grand jury indicted a man from Dennis Port Thursday on child pornography charges, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts.
Sean Gleason, 35, faces one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
Gleason has been in custody since September 10 when he was charged by a criminal complaint.
Following an investigation into the use of a messaging application in the exchange of child pornography, a federal search warrant was executed at his home.
Prosecutors said a preliminary forensic review of Gleason’s cell phone revealed hundreds of pictures of child pornography.
The charges of receipt and possession of child pornography each carry a sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The charge of receipt of child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison. Both charges carry a mandatory minimum of five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, as well as a fine of up to $250,000.
An arraignment date for Gleason has not yet been scheduled.
