Brookline officials warning residents of 'inspection' scam

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- The Brookline Fire Department is warning residents of a scam targeting the area.

Officials have received reports of an individual posing as a Fire Department representative and conducting "inspections" in homes.

Fire officials advised that they would never conduct an ad hock, unannounced inspection, and to be wary of any unexpected visitors claiming to be fire officials.

All inspection with the Brookline Fire Department are scheduled in advanced.

Residents are urged to report any individual claiming to be from the Fir Department without a prior appointment.
