BROCKTON (AP) - Police in Brockton have arrested 21 men and women as part of a stepped-up campaign against prostitution.
The Brockton Enterprise reports that the arrests of prostitutes and their customers last week were part of a balanced enforcement against prostitutes and their customers.
The arrests were made by male and female undercover detectives posing as customers and prostitutes.
Police Lt. Paul Bonanca says the crackdown against prostitution is a quality of life issue.
Those arrested were charged with one count of sexual conduct for a fee. One woman was arrested twice on the same day and faces two charges.
