Boy sparks major police hunt after disappearing, only to be found under his bed

GATESHEAD, UK — There was a massive search for a 9-year-old boy who disappeared from his bed, only to later be found underneath it, hiding.

Josh Dinning from the United Kingdom, was reported missing by his parents after they went into his room to wake him up from school only to find he wasn't there.  According to The Independent, his parents had last seen him the night before at 9:30 p.m after tucking him into bed.

Dozens of officers, along with a helicopter, K9 units and boats along the River Tyne were called in to help find the boy.

In the end, Josh was found in a hidden drawer compartment under his bed.

Police say they will look into why Dinning wasn't found during the initial search of the home.

Despite the scare, Josh has now been reunited with his family.
