Bellingham teacher accused of recording student in bathroom placed on leave

BELLINGHAM, Mass. — A teacher at Bellingham Memorial Middle School has been placed on administrative leave amid allegations that the teacher recorded a student in a bathroom.

In a statement, the school district's superintendent, Peter Marano, said that the teacher was placed on administrative leave on Nov. 9 pending an investigation.

It is alleged that the teacher recorded a student while using the faculty bathroom.

"This individual was immediately removed from the classroom when the district learned of the alleged conduct and we immediately contacted the police," Marano said. "We continue to remain committed to our efforts to ensure a safe learning environment for all students. Student safety is our highest priority."

Bellingham Police and the school district are investigating.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
