FOXBOROUGH, Mass — Bill Belichick laughed at the mention of a Tom Brady trade, according to the general manager of the 49ers.
San Francisco negotiated a trade to bring the Pats' backup quarterback Jimmy Garroppolo out west, but an interview with a Barstool Sports podcast revealed their may have brought up an alternative.
The 49ers general manager John Lynch was interviewed on Pardon My Take Monday morning and a video posted to Twitter shows the GM talking about his dealings with the Patriots.

"We were calling about Jimmy and had that conversation," he explained. "Bill laughed at me and basically hung up on me. But, hey, I took my shot."
John Lynch was in his first year as the general manager of the 49ers. He played for the Broncos and the Buccaneers before becoming a member of the Patriots' practice squad briefly in 2008.
