Barn fire on Martha's Vineyard kills dozens of animals

WEST TISBURY, Mass. — Nearly a hundred animals were killed when a fire ripped through a barn in Martha’s Vineyard early Tuesday morning.

West Tisbury Police report the fire at Flat Point Farm killed 50 chickens, 22 lambs, a dozen sheep and a pair of beef cattle.

Hundreds of bails of hay were also burned.

Investigators believe the blaze may have been sparked by a heat lamb.
