ASHLAND, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- A fifth grade student was able to raise more than $1,200 for the New England Aquarium's sea turtle rescue program.
Abby first set out on her mission to save sea turtles after reading a book about them. She says she was moved by their beauty and size and set out to save them after realizing that pollution, fishing and beach development were hindering their longevity and reproduction.
Abby created and sold woven bracelets, complete with turtle charms, to raise money.
On Thursday, Abby was honored by the New England Aquarium and was able to see dozens of seas turtles recovering from last fall's record stranding season. Click here for more information.
