SUMMARY:  WFXT Fox25 is in search of an Anchor for station newscasts.  The successful candidate must have strong on-air presentation and communication skills.  The seasoned journalist will excel in live breaking news and severe weather coverage.  The successful candidate will also have investigative reporting skills that add depth to newscasts.  This position requires someone who is hungry to use new technology to present stories and be passionate about engaging audience on social media platforms.  Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience as an Anchor and previous reporting experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

•    Anchors and Reports for station's newscasts.
•    Ability to narrate, ad-lib and add value to live breaking news and severe weather coverage.
•    Use investigative reporting skills to add depth to the newscast.
•    Strong live presence in the field when reporting and field anchoring.
•    Has strong writing and editorial skills to help build the newscasts.
•    Writes stories for air and digital platforms.
•    Thorough understanding of social media and demonstrated ability to move audience between all platforms.
•    Desire to connect with local communities by meeting with local groups and representing WFXT at important events.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university in Journalism or Communications preferred.   A minimum of 10 years professional experience as an Anchor/Reporter is required.

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism. Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide-range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
