7,500 Legos used to make Star Wars fan's Millennium Falcon

BOSTON — It may have taken more than 12 parsecs but a "Star Wars" fan crafted his own Millennium Falcon out of thousands of Lego bricks.

It took Flickr user Marshal Banana about a year and 7,500 Lego bricks to create his own version of the fastest ship in the galaxy.

“My main goal was to present the model in a flying position, which was a huge task,” he wrote on Flickr.

Lego released its own ultimate collector model of the ship, which consists of 5,197 pieces and is available for up to $9,999 on Amazon.

The toy weighs about 22 pounds and measures about  33 inches by 22 inches, according to Banana.

He did not include an interior, but the model has a detailed cockpit, gunner’s platform and lowering ramps. It is also fully lighted.

“I am proud how this creation came together – I hope you like it as well,” he wrote.
